Audience

Instagram — 3,384 followers

@bigstarcircus. 779 posts. Our main channel: class footage, skills, holiday programs. The audience is overwhelmingly Gold Coast parents of primary-school-aged children.

Facebook — 951 followers

facebook.com/BScircus. Used for event announcements, holiday programs and parent questions. Older-skewing than Instagram and more local.

Email — our member families

We email current member families directly with term news and holiday programs. Our CRM holds around 1,700 families who have been through classes, workshops or holiday programs since 2023.

In person — around 75 children a week

98 children are currently enrolled, and around 75 come through the door each week. Most are brought and collected by a parent, so we speak to those parents face to face, every week.

How we would promote advertisers

We are not a deals site and we are not a coupon site. We recommend equipment of the kind we use in our own classes, to parents who have already asked us what to buy. The question we get most often, every single term, is "where did you get that?" — this is the answer to it.

1. A recommendations page

Our "Gear We Actually Use" page sets out what we use, how we choose it, and which Australian shops sell it. Each shop is linked. Paid links are disclosed in body text above the first link, and again on each item.

2. Email to member families

Seasonal round-ups to our member families — holiday programs, end-of-year gift ideas, what to buy a child who has just started circus. Links are disclosed in the email itself.

3. Instagram and Facebook

Posts and stories showing equipment actually in use in class, with the link in the caption or bio. Never boosted or promoted — see below.

How a purchase happens

A parent asks us what to buy, in class or by email, or sees a piece of equipment in a post. They follow the link from our recommendations page, our email or our social caption, and buy from the advertiser’s own website. We never take the payment and we never hold the stock — the transaction is entirely the advertiser’s. Our own Big Star branded merchandise and gift cards are sold separately on their own subdomain, kept deliberately apart from this page so there is no confusion about who is selling what.

How we work

No paid search, no boosted posts

We do not bid on advertiser brand names and we do not put paid media behind a post that carries a tracking link. If we boost a post, it carries no link.

Disclosure in plain words

Every page and post carrying a paid link says so, in body text, above the link, in language a parent reads rather than skips.

We only recommend what we use

If it has not been through our classes we do not put it on the page, and if it falls apart we take it off — our standing with our families is worth more than a referral fee.

Why advertisers should care about a small audience

Our reach is modest and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What we have instead is trust and intent. These are parents who hand us their children every week, who ask our coaches for buying advice unprompted, and who are already shopping for exactly this category. We hold a 5.0-star rating across 51 reviews, and we are the only dedicated children’s circus school on the Gold Coast.
