Looking for kids’ aerial classes on the Gold Coast? BigStar Circus in Molendinar runs weekly aerial classes for children — aerial silks, trapeze and hoop (lyra) — in small groups with qualified coaches and proper safety matting. Beginners are always welcome; no experience needed.
What is kids’ aerial?
Aerial is the art of performing on hanging equipment — silks, trapeze and hoop. It builds real strength, flexibility, coordination and, most of all, confidence. At BigStar every child progresses at their own pace, on crash matting, with a coach spotting each new skill. It’s challenging, rewarding and genuinely magic to watch your child learn to fly.

Aerial class times
Tuesdays — Junior Aerial 3:45–4:45pm (5–8 yrs) · Senior Aerial 5:00–6:00pm (9–15 yrs) · Teen Aerial 6:15–7:15pm. Fridays — Junior Aerial 3:45–4:45pm (5–8 yrs) · Senior Aerial 4:45–5:45pm (9–15 yrs). Small groups — max 8 kids per coach.
Kids’ aerial classes — your questions
What age can kids start aerial classes?
Children can start aerial at BigStar from age 5. We group Juniors (5–8), Seniors (9–15) and Teens so every child learns at the right level and pace.
Is kids’ aerial safe?
Yes. Classes run in small groups (max 8 per coach) with qualified coaches, crash matting under every apparatus, and every skill taught step-by-step at your child’s pace.
Does my child need experience or to be flexible?
Not at all — most kids start as complete beginners. Strength and flexibility build naturally over the term.
What should my child wear to aerial?
Fitted activewear (a fitted top and leggings so fabric doesn’t catch), hair tied back and no jewellery. Bare feet or grip socks.
Where are your aerial classes held?
At our studio, Unit 1/14 Harper St, Molendinar — central on the northern Gold Coast and easy for Southport, Ashmore, Arundel, Parkwood, Nerang and Helensvale families.
Can adults do aerial too?
Yes — we run aerial for teens and adults as well. Ask us about adult classes and private lessons.
